Tune In Not Out provides 24hr TV for life’s challenges, such as alcohol, drugs, mental health, exams, sex, independence and relationships. Tune In Not Out brings video and factsheet content from a range of leading Australian Youth Agencies and young people into one central point for young people to explore. The organisation has become an Official Honoree in the Internet's most respected symbol of success – The Webby Awards.
The 15th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 10,000 entries from all 50 US states and over 60 countries worldwide. Tune In Not Out was the only Australian based website to become an Official Honoree for Youth Website category, receiving recognition next to a high profile names including MTV Network and Pixton Comics.
Tune In Not Out's Senior Project Consultant, Lynsey Goulding, comments "As one of our very valued content partners, who help make Tune In Not Out possible, we hope that you share in our success, because a bit of all our content partners and the young people who visit and contribute to the website were essential to us receiving such recognition.
Advocates for young and vulnerable Australians are optimistic after the federal government announced an increase of $4 a week to people on Newstart and Youth Allowance.
Executive Director of the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition, Andrew Cummings is campaigning for an increase for people on the lowest benefit schemes.
He said he was pleased that this year’s federal budget recognised that Newstart and Youth Allowance provide too little to live on.
