AYAC acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture. Most often, we work on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. As the national peak body for young people, we also acknowledge First Nations young people as the future custodians of this land. We stay committed to supporting the Uluru Statement from the Heart, and to supporting the leadership and self-determination of First Nations young people.
